ODDL has many decades experience in clinical trials from phase I to phase IV for dry eye disease, glaucoma, vein occlusions, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Ophthalmology unit provides professor level clinical trial examination and advanced study nurse services. Clinical trial agreements and ethical permissions are handled by in our research service centre and local hospital ethical committee. Ophthalmology clinic has full facilities to carry out different clinical trials with top level biomicroscopes, anterior segment and fundus cameras (green, blue, red and autofluorescence filters), optical coherent tomographies (OCTs), fluorescein angiography- (FAG) and indocyanin green (ICG) -stainings, ultrasonography, cornea tomography/topography, visual field tests, retinal oxymetric analyses, computational tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. All laboratory kinetic analyses can be done in collaboration with hospital pharmacy.
